Robert Hewes Sibbio, 50, of Scottsdale, Arizona, unexpectedly passed away on September 4th, 2017. Robert was born in Phoenix, Arizona and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. He graduated from Saguaro High School, after going to Mohave Middle School and Kiva Elementary. He was in competitive powerlifting and had a passion for muscle cars. Robert ran a salvage business, AAA Van and Truck Wrecking Inc. with his father Don. Robert took over the company in 1995, after his fathers passing. Robert had a passion and a gift for building designing unique trucks, as well as a passion for fast cars. Having 38 years in the automotive industry, in 2016 Robert became operations manager for Patrick Motorsports. His dream was to be a part of a team and help grow this company. One of Robert's accomplishments was off road racing in the Tecate Baja 2000. His greatest accomplishment was standing tall through any health challenge God threw his way: 2 time cancer survivor, 3 heart attacks and many other health obstacles, with recently 2 heart valves being replaced and 1 repaired. He was an example of courage and strength to so many. Robert is survived by his 2 children Alishya Sibbio and Austin Sibbio, ex-wife Christine Sibbio, 4 half siblings Mike Sibbio, Tom Sibbio, Michelle Sibbio and Kathryn Hilliard, 2 nieces Kim Brown and Gayle Derouen, nephew Noah Sibbio, his Aunt Crichton Jones, sister-in-law Kathy Monzingo, mother-in-law Katherine Palmer, father-in-law Arthur Gorman and his wife Marianne Kutza and her son Jordan Pyle, and his loving pups and best friends Taco and Tequila. The services will be held at Resthaven Cemetery 4310 E. Southern Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85042. The dates and times are Friday, September 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the visitation and Saturday the 16th starting at 2:00 p.m. for the chapel service and celebration of Robert's life. The services will conclude at the mausoleum where Robert's parents have been laid to rest at Resthaven, ending at approximately 4:00 p.m. There will be a gathering of family and friends immediately following the service on Saturday the 16th. For those not attending the service at the mausoleum may head straight over to the gathering at approximately 4:00. The gathering location after the services is TBD and the location and address will be given at the services. It will be within reasonable distance and we encourage you to be a part of the memories and stories we can all share together about Robert's life. Let's celebrate Robert's life together. The arrangements have been made by Resthaven Park Mortuary and Cemetery at 4310 E. Southern Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85042. Contact 602-437-0436. Robert's contribution to society was his time given to volunteer at his children's schools and always helping others in need. He loved his children and coached many of his sons sports teams and cheered on his daughter at her dance performances. Robert wore his heart on his sleeve. We lost a great man on this earth and heaven gained a warrior angel. SIBBIO STRONG WILL LIVE ON.
